Early Life
Born to progressive intellectuals — a father who infiltrated the KKK for Daisy Bates and the Little Rock NAACP, and a prep school mother who worked as a self-employed criminal lawyer.
Army
Dropped out of the Ivy League before he started and enlisted at 17. Served on the Korean DMZ, then in clandestine Army counterintelligence.
Pinkerton
Recruited into the Pinkerton Agency as a private agent — close protection, surveillance, asset recovery, and deep undercover work for institutional, aerospace, and government clients.
Independent Practice
In the wake of the 1992 Rodney King riots, formed his own detective practice, modeled on the one Allan Pinkerton built in 1850s Chicago — protecting trusts, institutions, and individuals from loss.
Today
Lives in Southern California, clandestinely, and is the author of The Last Lawman: True Stories of a Private Detective.
